Social Service, Cultural, Arts & Sports Club

The ‘GOLD STAR’ was established in 1989. Its main objective is to stand beside the needy people. The main idea behind the establishment of this club was not to help the few well off, but to be with those who need assistance the most. The leading activities of the Social Service Club are blood donation program, fund raising drive for people affected by natural calamities, relief distribution program during natural disaster and social awareness program like literacy program and public awareness program.

The overall objective of the club is to develop sports & arts habit among students and to train well-qualified sportsmen being able to participate in national teams and to play in the league. Successful sportsmen and players are granted with university scholarship and they are able to use all the facilities provided by the university. In addition, we assist improving all other branches by taking active role in the sports activities held at ‘GOLD STAR’.

Cultural Club

‘GOLD STAR’ importance in organizing cultural activities and to encourage the students to cultivate their hidden genius in various fields of culture such as games & sports, music, painting, debate, recitation, literature, linguistics and so on. The Cultural Club continues its efforts to motivate the students to involve themselves in various cultural activities of their interest. It intends to recognize the promising cultural activities and provide means for their inherent talents to blossom. Performers can thus have expressions of their creativity through teamwork. Throughout the year, there are many interesting programs for students. Each event helps to contribute to their personal and intellectual growths, promotes an artistic and cultural atmosphere within the University and encourages interaction between counselors, teachers and students. These activities include seminars, symposia, movie screenings, workshops, exhibitions, parties and festival-based events.

Women’s Movement

Women’s Movement has always been a strong supporting team of Gold Star. It’s a good platform for ladies to get involved and organise many social, welfare & cultural activities. The intention is to encourage women more comfortable environment. The first project for Women’s Movement is Thayyal Unit (Tailoring Unit), the successful running project becomes helpful for unemployed women to become economically self sufficient.

Computer Club [Cyber Cell]

‘GOLD STAR Cyber Cell’ is a forum for the students interested in Information Technology. ‘GOLD STAR Cyber Cell’ has been a vital forum for the exchange of information and ideas about IT and for building friendship among students who want to build their career in IT. Computer Club offers a good number of publications, seminars, tutorials, and software exhibitions- everything the students need to have in the future without losing touch with their friends. The goals of this club are to create and evaluate a mood of understanding between the job markets of India and other countries.
